When Rainbow Six debuted on the PC, it wasn’t a shooter. Because of that, the director took a lot of liberties by changing the screenplay to speed up the action and keep the two hours engaging to keep audiences entertained.

You don’t learn anything about the cast of characters other than what’s important to the immediate story, and the movie felt like it was happening in fast forward. In order to get the book from almost 500 pages to two hours, they had to cut a lot out. The book has 470 pages, the movie is less than two hours. I have seen the movie a few times, but I also read the book. Keeping it in the Clancy world, take a look at The Hunt of Red October. You can’t have a main character sitting down and thinking to himself for 20 minutes with nothing happening, and having them stand up and say ”I got it!” because that would bore the audience. In a movie, you can’t have that same depth, because there needs to be something happening on screen. You can have a lot of ‘alone time’, so to speak, where an entire chapter or two takes place in the mind of the character the character can think and analyze something, and you can follow along thought for thought, and arrive at the conclusion with them. When a story is written in book format, the author has the ability to make a story that goes deeper than a screen adaptation would allow. I’ve found the best way to explain the differences between the first three Rainbow Six games and the more modern Lockdown or Vegas (and to the same extent, Ghost Recon) is to use the example of a movie interpretation of a book and how things change going from one to another. Head over to xbox, People are still playing Vegas 1 and 2.

This is why all the rainbow six games on PC are dead. I have Battlefield Hardline on PC and Xbox One too and although i love playing it in 4k on my PC maxed out, It lacks communication where on Xbox, i have no problem finding people to chat with. No one talks on PC, it's all text chat based which ruins the experience with a game like this. Games are also more Console forced because that is where the community is at. You need things like Sprinting and 3rd person cover system. If Ubisoft kept the game exactly the same like back in the raven shield days, no one would buy it today. Obviously you cannot deny the classics but games change over time and they are suppose to. Yuck, Rainbow Six Vegas 1 Attack & Defend on Calypso Casino is still being played right now and it's easily one of the best Rainbow Six Experiences you can have especially if everyone has a mic. Post any witchhunting/call-to-action/cheat accusation threads - Please send any reports to Ubisoft Support.
